Open Water Diver

Advanced Recreational Trimix Diver
This Program is designed to extend the diver’s knowledge in the use of EANx for Sport diving. It further develops diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the EANx concept of diving. It is also intended to supplement the skills of recreational trimix divers.
The Program employs EANx mixes from 21% to a maximum of 50% oxygen. For divers qualified as recreational Trimix Divers mixtures of a minimum of 28 % oxygen combined with a Helium content that maintains an END no greater than 80 fsw (24 msw) may be used.
This program qualifies divers to perform Trimix Dives outside of training up to 150 fsw (45 msw) and perform decompression stops required dives up to 15 minutes using EAN 50 as a decompression gas.

The course is available to those who require a safer means for deep water exploration and do not wish to make air dives below 40m/130’. There is a strong emphasis on safety and skill development within the program content.
Student requires Plastic slates or Wet Notes, two depth gauges and timing devices, and preferably two lines and reels/spools with safety balloons and two cutting devices. Also must have surface signaling device such as Dive Alert or whistle.
Course Cost does not include Helium fills, estimated at $200.

Designed to afford a safer means of deep water exploration for those already involved in deep diving.

Combined Courses Can be combined with the Technical Diver or Normoxic Trimix Diver program which will then include a minimum of 420 minutes of open water run time over at least seven dives in addition to all other course requirements. Cost is US$1,395 excluding Helium.

Purpose
Designed to afford a safer means of deep water exploration for those already involved in deep diving.
- The knowledge and skills taught in this course are more than adequate to qualify divers to perform dives outside of training up tp 100m/330ft.
- Must be certified as an IANTD Technical Diver (or Normoxic Trimix, Technical Wreck or Technical Cave ) or equivalent.
- Must have a log or proof of 200 dives, of which 25 are deeper than 42m/140’ or:
- Sufficient experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to enter this level of training.
- Either a confined water dive, or a skills training dive not deeper than 27m/90ft will be conducted.
- Four trimix training dives will be made at depths greater than 39m/130ft
- Depths will be worked up to incrementally, no dive being more than 12m/40ft deeper than the students previous maximum depth.
- At least one dive will be to 72m240ft or greater and maximum depth will not exceed 100m/330’ with END not exceeding 39m/130’.
